Premier Fertility North Carolina Fertility Clinic Donor Egg Program

Premier Fertility Clinic makes donor egg IVF available to couples who choose this option. We work with agencies that can supply suitable donors.

Sometimes it is not possible for a woman to use her own eggs in an IVF cycle. This can be due to many factors including advanced age or genetic defects. Women over 42 years of age have a poor IVF prognosis using their own eggs and success rates can be below 10% per cycle. Donor Egg Couple

In a donor egg cycle, the patient receives embryos that were developed as a result of an IVF cycle where the donor’s eggs are combined with the husbands (or a donor’s) sperm.

Donor Egg Program- Process

The egg donor must undergo ovulation induction, monitoring, and egg retrieval. During this stimulation phase, the recipient’s cycle is “synced” with the egg donor's so that her endometrium will develop properly. The donor egg nurse coordinator insures that all phases of the donor egg cycle are properly coordinated.

The donor's eggs are retrieved transvaginally and combined with the husband's sperm. The resultant embryo is incubated until mature, usually 3-5 days. Once the embryos mature, they are transferred to the donor egg recipient’s uterus and allowed to implant and develop.
