Fertility Tests - Laparoscopy
The laparoscopy is an outpatient procedure that allows the fertility specialist to examine the reproductive organs for diseases such as endometriosis. Using laparoscopy, two small incisions are made, one at the belly button and the other at the pubic hairline. The laparoscope is inserted in one opening and the operative tools (scissors, sutures, etc.) are inserted in the other.
Your fertility specialist can visualize the ovaries, uterus, tubes, and other organs through the laparoscope.
Dr. Deaton, Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Infertility Specialist, can treat many conditions, including endometriosis, during the diagnostic laparoscopy thus reducing the need for another “treatment” laparoscopy. Infertility specialists, such as Dr. Deaton, have years of advanced training in laparoscopic surgery.
Infertility specialists can perform most surgical procedures using laparoscopy greatly reducing patient discomfort, dramatically shortening recovery time, lowering cost, and reducing complications such as scarring.
